drewcarey.jpg

Wow, Drew Carey is looking skinny!

The Price is Right host has lost 80 lbs. by going on a strict diet, eliminating carbs, and hitting the gym non-stop. For him, that means at least 45 minutes of cardio a day - six days a week!

The comedian said he was diabetic with Type-2 diabetes, adding, "It sucks being fat, you know."

But since losing all those LBs since January, he says, "I'm not diabetic anymore. No medication needed."

Good for him! We're proud of you, Drew!

"Our names are John and Laurian Scott, and we are Thisbe and Noah’s parents. We will never get over the loss of our daughter and our son, and their suffering is something we will equally never be able to reconcile. The first step toward finding a cure is finding the causes of motor neuron degeneration. This research is already underway, including research for the gene causing Brown-Vialetto-Van Laere.

Once the BVVL gene is isolated, The Olive Branch Fund will initiate the next great leap: hiring a researcher for the cure. It is the mission of The Olive Branch Fund: A Thisbe and Noah Scott Legacy to promote research, awareness, and support for families of all pediatric motor neuron diseases, including Brown-Vialetto-Van Laere. As Thisbe and Noah’s parents, we can think of no better way to honor their lives than to assure that a motor neuron disease will never again take the life or health of another child."

He’s Gayish! Inception Star Tom Hardy Reveals His Fluid Sexuality

What a DELICIOUS breath of fresh air!

British actor Tom Hardy, who recently starred in Inception and happens to be engaged to a woman, recently talked about the fluidity of sexuality and admitted to having a variety of flings with men!

He reveals:

"Of course I have. I'm an actor for fuck's sake. I've played with everything and everyone. I love the form and the physicality, but now that I'm in my thirties, it doesn't do it for me. I'm done experimenting but there's plenty of stuff in a relationship with another man, especially gay men, that I need in my life. A lot of gay men get my thing for shoes. I have definite feminine qualities and a lot of gay men are incredibly masculine. A lot of people say I seem masculine, but I don't feel it. I feel intrinsically feminine. I'd love to be one of the boys but I always felt a bit on the outside. Maybe my masculine qualities come from overcompensating because I'm not one of the boys."

We think that there's nothing sexier than a man who can openly embrace the feminine qualities that most have, but are too ashamed to own up to!

We wish other actors would be this candid and comfortable talking about this subject matter!

It's definitely more common than what anyone - at least in the USA - is willing to admit, which we find so unfortunate - especially for all the confused young men who don't know how to make sense of what they're feeling and are too ashamed to discuss it.

Amazing, Tom!

Santa Angelina Worried About North Koreans!

ap10072807538aj.jpg

While Angelina Jolie was in Seoul, South Korea to promote Salt, the actress had the opportunity to learn about North Korean defectors from officials in the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees!

She reveals:

“They spoke a lot about the concerns about people being persecuted when they are sent back to North Korea. I’m very concerned about the people. I learned today about them gaining citizenship and crossing into South Korea. The UNHCR practices quiet diplomacy in which they do more than they talk about.”

Could they have chosen anyone better to be a goodwill ambassador?

She's amazing!

"The Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS) Foundation is a not for profit [501(c)(3)] voluntary health organization, incorporated in Massachusetts and located in Avon, Connecticut (USA).

The Foundation provides a host of services that attract, educate, and unite families touched by this rare birth disorder which causes individuals to develop at a slower rate, both physically and mentally.

Each day, we enlist the support of hundreds of dedicated volunteers throughout the United States and the expertise of professionals from the fields of genetics, medicine, education, and psychology in our collective effort toward advancing both societal and scientific understanding of the syndrome.

Once you become familiar with a few features common to the syndrome, you will likely recognize the faces of people with CdLS forever. And once you come to know the faces of people with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, we ask…

How could you ever forget?"

Man Successfully Receives Full Face Transplant!

103091864jb1.jpg

Absolutely unbelievable!

A Spanish man, who was left unable to breathe or eat without assistance after accidentally shooting himself in the face five years ago, was the first successful recipient of a full face transplant!

The procedure, led by Dr. Joan Pere Barrett, apparently took a full 24 hour, and involved lifting an entire face (including cheekbones, teeth, and muscle) and moving it onto the man, and he is expected to get up 90% of all facial functions back!

Although his body has since attempted to reject the face twice, it was successfully saved with medication, and he's being sent home to finish his recovery!

The patient's sister reveals that her brother is looking forward to doing "little things, like walking down the street without anyone looking at him, or sitting down for a meal with his family. Doing things that all of us do on a normal day."

We never stop being amazed at what modern science can help us accomplish.

We wish the man nothing but the best and hope that the rest of his recovery period goes by smoothly!
