Jennifer Lopez is set to star in the remake of the 1987 flick Overboard. The original was directed by Garry Marshall and starred Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.
If you recall, the flick centered on a spoiled woman who falls off her yacht and is taken to the hospital by a local carpenter. She wakes up with amnesia and he convinces her that she's his wife and gets her to take care of his home and four boys.
As for the remake, Will Smith is producing with Overbrook partner James Lassiter.
Not a good idea to remake this classic we think.
And why cast JLo? Why not Kate Hudson? Or at least a good actress?

Pop singer Ke$ha and 30H!3 hit the American Idol stage to perform “Blah Blah Blah” on Wednesday night’s (Mar 17) episode of the FOX show in Los Angeles. The performance included a lot of dancing around and Ke$ha sporting a Native American headdress.
But how does Ke$ha herself think the performance went?
“Well, I never really know, but I think it went pretty well from what I’ve heard from family members and friends and stuff,” she told MTV News via phone Thursday (March 18). ” … I think it came across like we were just having a good time onstage, like, just playing dress-up. Back in December, Lindsay Lohan traveled to India and lied aboutsaving 40 children from child trafficking. Now India wants to put her on the immigration blacklist thereby denying her entry ever again. That’ll put a damper on things because I’m sure she was planning on returning real soon.
Officials say Lindsay broke the law when she traveled as a tourist and never filed for a work visa while filming the BBC documentary. Currently, civil servants in New Delhi are studying the case to decide whether or not to ban this walking case of VD.
Whatever. You know there’s no way Lindsay would go back to that place unless she was being paid or it was real good publicity. Lindsay favors places with sandy beaches, debauchery and copious amounts of alcohol. Not places with poverty, crime and child trafficking. That’s like asking a fish to vacation in the desert.
Also, since we’re banning Lindsay from places. How about one for USA? A good plan would be to ban her while she’s in the UK. That way when she comes back, the security guard at the airport will put his hand up in her face and go, “No ma’am,” and then shoo her away.
